One of the greatest albums of all time... such a lable creates considerable expectations.
A variety of styles, rhythms, instruments can be heard on this album from Ray Charles, recorded in 1962 (Artone, the Netherlands).
Some songs are a little too sweet for my liking, but the instrumental and musical skills are amazing. It just all fits together. Who would have thought that possible when combining country and soul music? Well, Ray did. As he also stated that there is so much similarity between blues and country. And the warm, clear voice from Ray Charles echoing on every track sounds so familiar and comforting. Despite the tough but honest lyrics passing by.
