Again the beautiful warm voice of Barbara sounds through the speaker.
The ninth album made by Barbara (Philips, 1968) is the second record in my collection. It brings this typical French vibe. The melancholy combined with small moments of lightness. When style, talent, and life's learnings come together. Although Barbara had not an easy life, you rather feel than hear this in her voice. Unlike for example Edith Piaf. This makes Barbara more easy to listen to without actually paying attention to what you hear, while her songs leave more than a passing impression when you take your time to really sit down and listen. Black as her dresses and the sun on this album may be, this album surely brightens my day.
