Not sure what to make of the band name? Or the pink vinyl of the record? Be ready to be entertained!
I have listened to this album now a couple of times, and have tried to describe its sounds, but it is just not doable. Technically this album is brilliant, soundwise it's a festive organised chaos. The cover pops out in between other records and you just have to have a closer look. Strange combination between the bright colours and the laughing dressed up corpses and the coffins in the corners... Let's wait not any longer! A baby pink record appears with a crowned skull and the label 'Voodoo Rhythm' (2002). If you would not know what I was talking about here, it would sounds rather creepy. So let's listen.
The album is strange, I can say that straight out. But it is fascinating for sure! Every song has another sound, another language, another message. There is folklore, blues, jazz, rock, something like being in a big circus tent, with lots of the Dead Brothers' personal sound. Everytime I listen to it, I hear new things. Typical thing for my father to find such intriguing albums. Something indescribable but you just have to listen to it, have to feel it. Turn up the volume, close your eyes, and see in front of you the show locked up in this puzzling album. What do you see?
