Blonde on Blonde - Bob Dylan

Bijgewerkt op: 12 dec. 2020

The second name on the list of great lyricists - after Ray Davies yesterday - is no one other than Bob Dylan.

I won't write much about this album (CBS, 1966 - pressing 1967 UK) as it could only stand in the shadow of the songs on this record. This is the first classic double LP in pop history of which some say it is Dylan's best record. I will have to find that out on this trip down vinyl memory lane where I will - undoubtly - come across more work from Bob Dylan.

This album does give you the 'thin' sounds which characterizes Dylan and the electrical effects are clearly present. Rumour has it the album (and its vague cover) are influenced by his use of speed which triggered this creative period. It is certainly creative and keeps you focused though both LP's. What more is there to say? Greatness comes in many forms...
